Simply trace the pieces, copy and paste and then use the select tool to move the pieces around the board.

You can’t do that on paper!

Now of course, it’s not as good as a real chess board and there might be better apps on the ipad, but this is probably as good as it gets for the remarkable 2.
At least it’s not a screen and could be great if the Remarkable is the only device you bring on holidays. I only take my phone and my remarkable when we go away.

You can also play checkers (draughts) as well.

When you are finished playing just use the undo feature (double tap) as many times as needed to reset the board. Only takes a few seconds.
